It’s been one year since Eagle & Bear opened its doors, and we are celebrating with discounts and cake!
Tasty treats are being delivered throughout the week for our clients to enjoy with a coffee, or an alcoholic beverage (after 12pm) because you can’t have a birthday without cake.
We are also offering a 10% discount on all Uppercut products between the 12th and 16th of April.
The history behind Eagle & Bear – why was it created?
I had visualized for years for a haircut to become an experience and not just a chore for my clients. I didn’t want just ordinary, I wanted you to relax, unwind from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and look forward to visiting regularly.
I really do care about each and every client and the number one priority of Eagle & Bear is to make you feel comfortable when you visit and I hope you find that is the case with the slower pace of life in the Barbers. There is something exciting about meeting new clients for the first time, I love finding their ‘spark’, and sometimes seeing their state of mind lift with ease. I am very fortunate to say that most of the clients walking through the door are regulars which I look forward to seeing you and catching up. Not forgetting, of course, you receiving a perfect haircut that is personalised to each individual client.
With all this being said, I just had to find a unit, decorate, organize all the paperwork and impress you all on your first visit… and keep on impressing you!
No pressure then.
I picked up the keys, I AM a business owner, now what do I do?
Eagle & Bear is a perfect mix between speakeasy bars and the traditional gentleman’s club – think dark, cosy and inviting… plus surrounded by manly trinkets.
14 months ago, I had a very clear vision in my head of how I wanted the shop to look, I just needed to ask my nearest and dearest for all the help they could give.
I’m a very organized person but I am useless with technology and this is where my sister, her husband and my dad came in. Creating spreadsheets, perfecting wording for the website, and guiding me through all business-related paperwork was a dream with them around.
There was so much work to be done – removing commercial extractor fans, rebuilding a ramp, inserting a boiler, new window and the list really went on and on. But I found it very addictive and ended up spending every hour possible at the shop.
The main man of the show was definitely my partner who project managed the whole shop – without him, there wouldn’t be a shop at all or definitely not how it is now. Tiling, paneling, building a reception desk, the ramp and everything you could think of, he did, with me being a brilliant labourer throughout the whole process (or that’s how I remember it).
But what an adventure it was. The shop fit? I’m obsessed. The atmosphere? My clients make it great. The music? Who doesn’t love jazz, blues and rock. The chessboard? I love seeing clients challenge each other on every visit. Not forgetting your Google reviews, they honestly make my day!
As I said, the concept of Eagle & Bear was to create a relaxing and refined grooming experience where we offer a chance to unwind from the hustle and bustle and take a seat in our sanctuary. I hope you enjoy visiting Eagle & Bear as much as I love being there.
Thank you for all your support,
Claire
