Here at Eagle & Bear we like to enjoy the finer things in life and who doesn’t enjoy an ice cold beer or a whiskey on the rocks, listening to classic jazz and blues whilst you sit in a comfy barber chair and have your haircut? Below are some of the beers and whiskey’s we offer and why they are must haves in our barber shop!
The Beer
I have always loved a beer but I’ve never been fazed by what type of beer I was drinking, until visiting Australia. As it was generally warmer than England, I found they would offer a lot of pale ale’s with a slight fizz which I found lighter to drink. Below are a couple of the beers we sometimes stock that I love.
Stone & Wood
Let me set the scene. You’re in sunny Byron Bay, and fresh, cold beers are being constantly passed to you the moment you’ve finished the last – the best brewery tour I have been on. Pacific Ale is my favourite, Australian malts and hops are used for a hazy golden beer, bursting with tropical aromas and flavours.
BrewDog – Punk IPA
One of the most popular craft beers in the UK. Grapefruit, pineapple, lychee with bursts of caramel are all included to create this fruity bitter, beer. Punk IPA was the first beer made by the company and is their best seller, and no wonder why by its great flavour.
Camden Town – Pale Ale
A traditional English pale ale but made with American hops with a fruity and hoppy flavour. Their pale ale is really fresh as it doesn’t go through the pasteurisation process, like most others.
Our beers are changed regularly so we can offer a variety of choice. I’m always looking to try new beers, so let me know if you have any suggestions!
The Whiskey
My Gran was Scottish and she was a true Whiskey drinker, always on the rocks. When we have family holidays in Scotland, we always buy a couple of the local Whiskeys to try. I personally haven’t acquired the love for the silky smooth flavour just yet, so I’ve picked my gran’s brain and bought her favourite.. it’s a crowd pleaser I promise.
Glenmorangie
Medium bodied and gently warming, this highland Scottish Whiskey is full of pleasant spicy notes. Glenmorangie is a single malt scotch whiskey that has been aged in bourbon casks to absorb all manner of delectable flavours for 10 years but was first created 175 years ago.
A range of teas, coffee and soft drinks are also available.
