Summer is finally here and we are all enjoying the sunshine, and maybe having the barbie on with a few drinks, and of course, watching the Euros (surely, it’s coming home….!)
It’s been lovely having clients visit Eagle & Bear and telling me their summer plans, which include days out, gardening, and even a few lucky enough to be able to get on a plane for a holiday. It does really feel like a new normal is beginning.
But, with sunny weather also comes humidity, which can be a problem with certain hair types. Most people’s hair will be fine, but some, their hair could become more wild and uncontrollable.
Mix in that we generally want to spend less time styling hair and more time seeing friends outdoors, there’s no wonder a lot of men go for shorter hairstyles in the summer.
But don’t fear, we have three simple tips and tricks to help you manage your hair throughout the summer months.
- Sea salt spray is your best friend
A light hold, natural finish and a primer for your hair.
Use a couple of sprays in damp hair and let the product work its magic for a loose, laid-back look. You can also use a hairdryer to guide the hair into place for that added hold and texture.
Even if you are not sold on this bottle of perfection yet, you can use 2-3 sprays in dry hair for added control.
- Not washing your hair every day
If you are washing your hair every day you are washing the natural oils out which can make your hair drier and more prone to breakage. Also, long periods of time in the sunshine can also dry your hair out, so the two together don’t go down well. With that in mind, try leaving your hair a day between washing.
- Try a shorter hairstyle
This could be just tapering the haircut out for your neck to be more refreshed. Or why not ask your barber to take a little more weight out of the length on top, this will ease the heaviness and be easier to style.
